Many charities have overhead in excess of 30-40%. Vayu on the other hand is a highly effective charity with virtually no overhead and close to 100% of contributions support the poor and vulnerable.
It’s important to be careful when choosing a charity to support with your donations. Many charities have considerable overhead that can be in excess of 30-40%. That means your money may be spent on salaries, administrative functions, and fundraising instead of directly helping people in need.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the Vayu Global Health Foundation is a highly efficient charity with virtually no overhead and close to 100% of contributions go to the poor and vulnerable.
All contributions to Ujenzi go to the direct support of our four main programs.
- Preventing avoidable newborn deaths (bCPAP)
- Preventing avoidable maternal deaths (UBT)
- Enabling critical surgeries (Ketamine)
- Training local doctors
The Vayu Global Health Foundation is completely supported by volunteers so we have no salaries to pay. And we develop solutions and train local doctors on site in our “innovations lab” within the African Institute for Health Transformation (AIHT) at the Sagam Community Hospital in western Kenya.
We collaborate with The Division of Global Health and Human Rights (GHHR) of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and other global partners to support high-impact, low-cost solutions delivered directly to impoverished areas. We have created a nearly cost-free operational infrastructure to allow for contributions to directly support the worlds’ most pressing health and human rights challenges.
