Thanks to all our caring supporters like you, the (FDA-approved) Uterine Balloon is now being commercially produced at scale in India and distributed around the world.
In the pictures below, you can see OBGYNs in India and Bangladesh proudly displaying their uterine balloons (…which I am embarrassed to say was named after me despite my wishes to the contrary!)
At just $4 USD, the sales price is 100 times less than its “competitor.”
This is such an exciting milestone! Being able to distribute at this price point enables us to make the UBT accessible to poor communities everywhere and save womens’ lives worldwide.
I cannot thank you enough for helping to make this a reality!
Despite the Pandemic, our work developing high-quality, low-cost oxygen delivery systems is on track for reaching global scale as well.
To date, Vayu bubble CPAP Systems have been used to help over 2,000 infants breathe in select facilities across 6 countries (Italy, Vietnam, Tanzania, India, Kenya, Nepal).
While there is considerable work ahead before full US FDA approval, on July 16th, we presented an update to WHO, and they could not have been more enthusiastic.
To quote one of the WHO program directors,
The Vayu Oxygen Delivery Systems will be game-changers for premature newborns, infants and young children worldwide.
